Barn Dance

Peg, Landon and Kyndra's violin teacher, and her various fiddling groups put on barn dances throughout the year. Friday night we attended our first one! The dance was a fundraiser for the bands and for Miranda Case who was born with a heart condition.

Ronda had a brought Landon his cowboy clothes to change into before leaving and I was in the middle of a crisis because we only have 1 pair of cowboy boots. But Ronda and Landon came to the rescue letting Kyndra borrow a pair of Landon's boots for the evening!

All three kids were nervous to try the dances but by the end they were all participating, in their own way. I was especially proud of one of my partners, Avery. In one circle dance (I have no idea what the name is) she switched partners at each switch time and ended up dancing with everyone on the floor! What a trooper. Kyndra stuck with me, but she was out there trying! She was awfully concerned after the first cake walk when Landon won a cake and she didn't. Her face lit up the gym when her number was called first off in the second cake walk. She got to pick the cake she had her eye on, the lolly-pop cake that Landon and Ronda made. Avery also got to pick out one during the very next round. So, we left with one cake and came home with two. Fun night, we'll definitely do it again!
