Oregon Zoo

Last Sunday we headed out early from seeing Joe's mom in Albany and finally made it to the Oregon Zoo. There was an elephant getting his teeth worked on that day so there were masses of people, news crews, everything. Crowds are generally enough to send Joe and I packing but the girls were soooo excited that we just had to forge ahead. We had to park in reserve parking a couple of miles down the road and rode the shuttle to the zoo. This was fun because it was Kyndra and Avery's first school bus ride. We got our map and made our way around the animals. Many of the animals were sleeping but we were treated with seeing the polar bear playing with a ball and the penguins being fed.

The weather was perfect, we didn't really notice the crowds, Kyndra walked the whole way, and we made it out without having to buy one of each stuffed animal in the gift shop. Then came the challenge of keeping no-nap Avery awake until we found somewhere to eat before heading home. We made it....barely....to the Olive Garden. Yummmyyyy! What a great day, what a great place, what great memories.

I am sooo glad that you were able to take the girls and create such a great memory together! I can't wait to see Landon's reaction when he gets to go to the zoo with them! I love how you put all the pictures in a slide show!
