I Remember

Remember when I found you hiding under that bike and took you home.
Remember my family seeing you for the first time, and falling in love, just as I did.
Remember when you first threw your head back and howled at the moon.
Remember how you got your head stuck under a rock chasing a chipmunk.
Remember when you ran into the mountains in Alaska after some deer.
Remember how you liked to back up and sit in my lap like it was a chair.
Remember almost losing you to parvo as a pup.
Remember dropping your dish at my feet when you were hungry.
Remember jumping fences, any fence you could jump.
Remember getting me out of that speeding ticket on the Navajo reservation.
Remember sleeping in my bed, your head on my pillow.
Remember bringing me a snake wrapped around your nose.
Remember sitting on my lap going down the river.
Remember sitting next to me in my truck, being my navigator.
Remember how much attention you drew, wanted or not.
Remember how you hated getting brushed.
Remember all the miles we put on.
Remember when it was just you and me, against the world.
Remember what a friend and companion you were.
I remember you Boaz, and I always will.

well, my eyes and nose are cleaned out and it won't be the last time. We were always so thankful that Boaz was in the passenger seat when you took off in that little red pickup. It was comforting knowing you had each other to take care of and protect. We all learned alot from that smart, 'interesting' Husky. And yes, he now has wings and is once again chasing deer and rabbits.
