Woo-Hoo-Pew
Thank you, thank you, Lon and Ronda for giving us two fabulous church pews. I am so excited I can hardly stand it. One is cleaned up and doesn't need much work. It is sitting along the entrance to our front door. The cats will love it and it is in the shade for us to sit and watch the kids play. The other needs some work. It has been painted and I am already hard at work stripping it down to the natural wood.
My wonderful neighbors saw me out working and the only thing Ed said is "you planning on doing a lot of praying?" Kathy said, "just what you need, more to do." You know, I think it is just what I need. I need a project just for me. It has been years since I have refinished a piece of furniture or taken on a big project, over 5 (funny how that coincides with children). The kids are helping me scrape and I'll let them sand or whatever, but it is a project, a project for me other than cleaning house, shopping, cooking, laundry, or work. I love my new pews!
I was out working today when AJ was taking a nap. I got the paint stripper in it's squirt bottle that it came with and sprayed it on the side, just like the instructions said, but it was windy and I had shorts on. The stuff came right back at me and hit my legs and arms. I started running to the bathroom stripping off my clothes with Kyndra right behind me stripping off hers (she thought I was just playing). We jumped in the shower before the stuff burned my legs too bad. I'm thinking I just discovered why it's called stripper!
