Hiking Partner

We hiked up one of the cat trails left over from the field fire a couple of weeks ago. The rain made that fine flour-like dust settle down. It was a nice little work out with my partner, Seeley. Up on top of that burned hill I had several observations:
  • A lot of people in my neighborhood have trampolines
  • Seeley has sure mellowed out since Boaz is gone
  • The "Blues" are beautiful hills (not really mountains, though)
  • The fire came awfully close to houses
  • Those CAT drivers are nuts, they went up a really steep part of the hill
  • I bet their wives worry
  • Thank goodness for our fire-fighters, and their wives
  • Seeley stayed with me without a leash the entire time, even found the trail back
  • You don't have to pick up dog poop on the burned hill
  • Soccer is very popular in this town
  • Fall is here
  • Horses, dogs, deer, and people have all been exploring the same new road
  • My sinus surgery didn't fix my earaches in the cold wind
  • I don't have any idea where my earmuffs are
  • Someone down the road from us has a husky
  • Our street is so quiet and protected (from the soccer traffic)
  • There are worse places to raise a family
