AJ's First Recital

Avery's first violin recital, and solo, were tonight at an assisted care facility. Avery and Makenzie were cool as cucumbers as the event approached. Neither of them seemed to be experiencing anxiety as their big night approached. I was anxious enough for the whole lot of them!

Both girls shined, shined, shined tonight! They were stars! They each played a solo and one of the songs with the group. Avery didn't miss a note on her solo and, well, hopefully hit a couple of notes on the group piece. It didn't matter, she didn't know, she did her best without hesitation.

Here is "I'm a little monkey"

Both Ronda and I were in tears by the end of that short 30 seconds. Hillary asked AJ if she wanted her to play with her and she just shook her head, "No." So brave!

A big high five!

Kyndra recognized some of the songs (yes, that's a turkey hat on her head)

I wish we could have been playing for Grandpa tonight, or Joe's Mom. But, the holidays are coming and both of the girls will get a chance to share what they are learning. What a gift to have music in our lives.

Thanks Ronda and Heather for the pictures!

Oh Miss Avery, I was so very proud of you tonight. You were a shining star for all to see and hear you play your violin! Here is to many more recitals! Love to you and my eyes are teary all over again watching your video! You are a brave little girl!

Landon says;
I liked your music and you did a good job. You did a nice job. It was funny, it's because you bowed 2times when all the kids were there with their violins.

It brought tears to my eyes to think of Avery and Kyndra playing for mom here in the valley. I know she will be proud of both girls. We look forward to your visit!
