Do you hear what I hear?
Pam and I grew up competing on the swim team. We started as Guppies. Then we continued to swim through high school. I don't ever remember having to fund-raise. I don't really know if it's because we didn't have to or what. When I started teaching and was the FBLA adviser, that was always the part I dreaded. Now, it seems like everyone is having to fund-raise for their teams, school, and extra-curricular activities. I am dreading doing that with our kids! As a result, I am a sucker for the kids, especially the kids on our block, that come knocking on our door selling magazines, books, apples, Buck cards, whatever. I most recently was a victim of the dance team and I ordered a magazine full of ads. However, there was one little article that I got a kick out of and one website that gave us a great idea for work. The article was a list of often flubbed Christmas carols. Whether these songs are flubbed because of too much holiday bubbly or poor hearing is a mystery but I thought I'd share my favorites. These misheard lyrics are a "mondegreen" (you can read about it on Wikipedia). See if you can recognize the songs:

two little girls singing their lungs out along with Abba/Super Trouper: 'somewhere in the crawdad stew' (somewhere in the crowd there's two) remember that? late 70's,early 80's
This is funny! I need to be careful what I am reading because it gets me to laughing...not so good for a few days!
My sister, Teresa, is a stickler for the proper lyrics in a song...me, I would make them up if I couldn't remember them! :)
