How do I blog thee....

I had a conversation the other night with a friend who "came clean" about being addicted to reading our blogs. This dialog keeps running through my head.

"I feel like a stalker or something." (I'm not sure if she said stalker, but it was something like that)

Seriously, I can't get it out of my head. I feel honored that people are reading my posts and maybe, possibly, relating to what is going on in my life. The first reason I started this blog is to share pictures and stories with my family. But it has morphed into so much more. Some words that come to mind are:
  • journal
  • scrapbook
  • therapy
  • communication
  • friendship
  • filter
I don't know, so much more. Some days I just want to sit down and vent about the day. Since my fingers can type way faster than my brain can think the computer seems like a natural outlet. Somewhere in the process of venting about my kids (day, job, husband, weight, hair, life) I find humor. Magically, my bitch session turns into comedy hour. My sailor's vocabulary changes from four letter words to grandma words such as "for Pete's sake," "ding, dang," or even "pish!" It's really quite amazing.

Being able to read past posts lets me remember past trials and triumphs and smile about them. I can be thankful I am not hearing whining today, or be warmed by pictures of summer, or see pictures of my beloved dog. I can cry and laugh all over again. I remember Lindsay saying she reads her own blog...I do it all the time!

For awhile I was feeling sorry for myself because nobody was commenting to my posts. "What's the point?" I'd sulk. I seriously almost posted to myself, "Dear self, you had a hard day. That child is going to grow out of this. Here is a new prayer you can say since the one prayer you have memorized is getting old."

Anyway, it's okay if you are reading this and I don't know you, or we know each other but I don't know that you are visiting. That's the point. People become friends online every day. One of the blogs I read regularly is a gal on a ranch somewhere, I don't have a clue where, but her stories are a riot and her photographs are amazing. I learn from her, get inspiration, laugh, and have even commented! She gets hundreds of comments a day (I'm only a little jealous).

This blog is about me getting perspective on my life and sharing our accomplishments as a family. So, hi, hello, welcome to The Bug's Story. Feel free to comment if something strikes a cord. Leave a link to your blog if you'd like to share. Enjoy!

Stacy...

I have enjoyed reading your blog lately...

You make me smile !!!

I even converted my blog to blogspot and am enjoying blogging for all of the reasons you shared, mainly therapy. It somehow seals the deal on life experiences.

We can share Kyndra stories :)

I just found out about this blog and I already feel closer to you guys over in P-town. I don't get to see you nearly enough, and now I have an avenue that will help me keep in touch. The girls change so fast and I don't want to miss a minute!

Seriously laughing right now! Stacy, I love you and your honesty! If I were limited to 2 blogs, yours would be one of them! So, so, so glad you are blogging! Even though we talk almost everyday and sometimes many more times than that, I LOVE to read your blog! Keep it up my friend!

I see that Anne commented...I wonder how she feels about coming clean?? Much better I hope! :)
