It takes a village

Tonight was swimming night. As we were packing up the kids, goggles, shoes, and towels all I could think was that saying, "It takes a village to raise a child." Everyone was busy doing something, with someone, taking care of a child even if it wasn't their own. Travis showered Landon, Ronda Makenzie, I got Kyndra. Joe watched Avery and Zak up on deck. I shampooed the hair, Ronda watched Kylee. At the door, Joe rounded up the goggles, Ronda brushed hair, I put on coats, Travis got Zak dressed.

It took us all, we could have done it alone, but we didn't have to. Everyone is playing an important role in the raising of our children. We don't have a village but we have found an extended family. What a blessing.

So true! I didn't even have a second thought about what was going on last night...life as usual.
What a great post! We are truly blessed by our Eastern Oregon Family. Thanks for letting us be a part of yours!

Oh Stacy... I so agree. Moving to Eastern Oregon and away from family was scary, but it has all worked out so beautifully. I really feel like I am raising my kids with a loving community. It is going to be so much fun to watch and share in the growth of our little village.

Anne and I seriously had a conversation about this topic yesterday.
