The Ultimate Gift

My Mom gave me The Ultimate Gift to read when she was here. It's the book where she got the gratitude, or Golden, list idea. I finished this book in 2 nights. It was a wonderfully quick read about a family that has everything they could ever ask for monetarily. Yet they are greedy and unsatisfied with their lives. One member of the family gets monthly lessons for a year from his Grandfather in order to earn his inheritance, The Ultimate Gift. There are 12 lessons for us all to learn from this book. All of them worthwhile. All of them uplifting. Read it! It's worth it.

I enjoyed the Gift of Gratitude chapter and am trying to remember to think of my 10 things every morning while on a walk with Seeley. Here is today's Golden List:
  1. Being a mother
  2. Friends
  3. Lysol Sanitizing Wipes (the flu is going around our house)
  4. Retractable dog leashes
  5. Clumping cat litter
  6. Underground sprinklers
  7. Lack of tornadoes in the Pacific Northwest
  8. High arched tennis shoes
  9. Small towns
  10. Gas mileage reimbursement!
