Anything is possible {continued}

After 10 years of living in Oregon I have discovered that it is possible to reconnect with old friends. At Christmas time I went out with some of my old buddies...no, some of my best friends from Great Falls. We got together again during this last trip home. I can't even explain how much these guys mean to me.

Anyway, I asked them to send me a picture of themselves and their families since I was lame and didnt' take pictures of my own. Well, I should rephrase...I asked some of them to send me pictures...others I didn't trust with what they would send...enough said.

This is my friend Pat.

Pat and I went to kindergarten together. He lived on Avenue E and I lived on Avenue D. While we have known each other since we were 5 we weren't really "friends" until we were out of high school. As a summer job we were county weed sprayers and I was lucky enough to get Pat as my spraying partner. Oh what fun! We laughed more those summers than ever in my life. Pat taught me the art of "checking the oil" when you had gas (had to fart). He saved my bacon when I backed the truck into the Missouri River when filling up (oops). He got the biggest kick of telling me I had a tick crawling on me while we were driving down windy dirt roads!

Pat is now married and lives in Great Falls with another classmate, Danika. He has 2 beautiful kids, Mila and Evan. Here are some pictures along with Pat's commentary:

"Evan Rider"

"Evan had too much to drink at the Griz game."

Thank you for sharing your family, Pat, and for reminding me that it is never too late to reconnect with old friends!

Stacy,

I agree it is never too late to reconnect with an old friend. We get so wrapped up in our lives we have now that I forgot about all the good times we shared together as kids and spraying those noxous weeds those summers. Truly priceless! I love this blog you have created what a neat idea and great way to share moments in your lives with family and friends. Thank you for putting my family and I in your blog I am honored. I am not going to tell a lie but I think that I have paparazzi now. There is a van parked outside of my house taking pictures....no wait it is my wife in our van. Well I am looking forward to watching your family grow up through this sight and I will continue the e-mails. Patrick.
P.S. You checked the oil more than I did and there really was a big tick on you!:)

So fun. With my 20 yr. reunion coming up I am hoping to catch up too. I expect there will be lots of laughs. I am sure some will be at my expense too. Those are fun also.

How fun!!! I'm glad you reconnected and get to watch each others children grow up.

Weed spayer is pretty glamorous, but I have you beat... I was a poop scooper.
