One week ago

One week ago I was in Montana.
One week ago I was with my sister.
One week ago I dined at a new restaurant.
One week ago I was a dog owner.

It's amazing what can change in just one week.

Today I am in Oregon.
Today I am thousands of miles away from my sister.
Today I ate leftover spaghetti.
Today I am missing this silly dog.

Seeley died while I was in Montana. This unfortunate and unexpected loss has sent me for a loop. I don't know how to not be a dog owner. I am really struggling with this. Why get up and walk in the morning? Why save plastic grocery bags? Why bother? I have had a dog my entire life. I just don't know what to do with myself.
The girls seem fine.  This hit Joe, me, and our neighbors the hardest.  Seeley would hang out with them when we went out of town, or whenever they felt like bringing her over to play with their dogs.

I know I'll get through this. Maybe it is hitting me hard because it was doubled with the loss of Grandpa. I'm sure we'll get another dog. But today, I miss this crazy character of a dog and pray that she and Boaz are giving Grandpa big loves right now.

Oh Stacy, how to cope with a loss on a loss! I like your vision of Boaz and Seeley with Grandpa and probably Monty too! What a party!
Those were 2 loved dogs and so lucky to be part of your family.
Love,
California Patty

Stacy: I'm so sorry to hear about Seely. I can only imagine the hole that is left with no dog around the house. Hang in there. Love ya. MJ

Hey Stace -
Wow - I didn't know you were going through so much lately - I am sorry for you and your family, just remember that Grandpa is still with you and he will see that your daughter is so much like you - he is smiling down on all of you.
I loved your collage - what a terrific job you did and how cathartic for you to do something you have so much talent for, it is terrific.
Sorry for the loss of your puppy - they are always puppies to me - it can't be easy for you to endure so much loss at one time.
Know that your online friends are with you - sending you strength, praying for your well-being.
All my love to you!!!
Tiffany
