We discovered two new uses for the millions of perler bead creations we have around the house. They have been used as keychains, coasters, magnets...and now toys.
First there is the spinner.
You thread some yarn or string through two holes,
(which are already there if you didn't melt the beads too much)
Tie the ends together of the string.
Twirl the middle piece until the yarn is all twisted.
Keep pulling it back and forth until it is whirling through the air like a propeller.
Next is a top.
Stick a toothpick in a hole in the middle.
Cut the top off so it isn't pointy, leave the bottom pointy.
Spin.
If you have no bead creations...we can share!

Ha ha! How very crafty of you!!
With all boys these have not graced our home!:)
I remember those spinning things!!! We made them out of Shrink Art maybe? Great use for the perler craft. I just might have to make myself one.
I remember those spinner things!! You and Pam used Shrink Art I think. They were good 'babysitters' as I remember.
LOVE it!! And way to get the full effect of the "spinning" ... totally impressed with that shot!
Love to you friend -
Stacy, I have so enjoyed your blog, but especially love your tribute and personal feelings about this journey your Grampa has been on. I know how hard this has got to be for you and Pam, being so far away and not to be able to be there to support your Mom and Gramma. Your Mom has given her life to supporting them and I am hopeful that she will find "a life" now that this time is over. The picture is one I always loved and is certainly the look that we all remember. Not, the way he looked over the past few years.
Please know I'm thinking of you and wish I could be in Great Falls next week. But, Dawn and Andy are in Europe, and I can't leave Simone and Marcus---- so, I'll make a trip to spend time with your Mom soon.
Love you much, Diana
