Pay Attention Mom!

This is what happens when I am too busy to pay attention.
I didn't hear her say the light was off.
I didn't hear her stack the chairs.
I didn't notice until it was all over.
So I made her do it again.
And if she fell..."it's ok, Mama, I'll just fall on these."
She is brave and resourceful, I'll give her that.
She made me realize how engrossed I get on the computer when I have something to get done.
I'm trying...trying to shut the lid when they need me,
trying to get it all done,
trying to pay attention!

Yikes...Have I ever mentioned I have a fear of watching someone fall? I don't mind climbing things...but even watching my kids climb the ladder on a playground slide makes me nervous. I can't sit in the balcony at church because I can imagine them tumbling over the edge...SO DEAR SWEET AVERY, next time hit mom over the head with a magazine and make her turn on the light. Photos like that make me woozy. I did ok with the girls climbing out the window because I could see the ground right there with nothing in-between to possibly break their legs. :-)

Looks scary!! Very resourceful though!! It's hard to always pay attention yet get anything done!! I'm sure you're doing great!

I must say, there is REAL talent in her stackability and I'm quite impressed with the idea. Rest easy- there are angels around you. In the mean time, how's about a 'code' of some kind? When Ryan really really wants my attention, he grabs my forearm and squeezes. Maybe something like that would at least free up your mind when you're working? :)
