I have a love/hate relationship with swimming right now:
I love:
my new underwater camera
that the girls are learning to swim
watching them improve
the smell of chlorine
memories of my years spent at the pool
visiting with friends
I hate:
the tears
(AJ cries for the 1st 5 minutes...just like KL did when she started)
goggles that don't stay on
pre-pool potty run
(even if they go 5 minutes before leaving for the pool!)
watching my girls' lips turn blue from the freezing water
unwrapping wet hair doo-dahs
the steep steps
the shower madness!
We need the girls to know how to swim. Our lifestyle and love for the rivers makes it a necessity. I swam competitively my entire life (don't remember not doing it) and our time at the pool brings back a lot of great memories. I met many great friends, got to see and meet people throughout Montana and Canada, and have memories to last a lifetime from our years swimming. Maybe the girls will continue in this sport...maybe not...either way is fine. For now, they must learn to swim...preferably without crying!

What a COOL underwater picture with the bubbles! How awesome is that? I hope there's a catergory soon on "iheartfaces" that it will fit in!
Ok...so did you get in the pool Friday and I missed it? Love the shot.
We let Taryn take a few years off of swimming because it is NOT her thing...but then we decided we needed to force the issue again until she can swim well enough to get out of trouble if she need to.
The showers...yep, that is my least favorite part of the entire night...though I love throwing them straight in bed when we get home.
I LOVE memories of good times with the Guppies and CMR swim teams, making Monster Cookies and Peanut Butter Popcorn to send on the bus trips, and end-of-year family parties at The Sting.
The idea of an underwater camera is way cool!!
Hopefully they will come to love it as much as you do! Hard not to watching you love it!!!
