Whats an Okuma?
Okuma Beach is a Services Resort on the north end of Okinawa.
We stayed right on the beach and played, played, played for 5 days.
I went through pictures and tried to pick out highlights but there were too many to post.
Here are some of my favorites.
These are fish I took pictures of while snorkling or exploring the tide pools.
I was so excited to see a Puffer Fish! I tried pulling it's tail to scare it but I couldn't get it to puff up for me.
The humuhumunukunukuapuaa (top middle picture) was stalking me while snorkling!
I loved the little clown fish in the sea aneome, just like Nemo.

Next was all the water fun.
We kayaked, snorkled, rode waves, and went on a banana boat ride.
You can sign up for snorkling trips and the guides take you to a reef to explore.
All the girls at least put their faces in the water and saw fish.
Pam and Dan showed us how to dive under water to get a better look.

There were all kinds of fish but taking pictures of them is really hard!
I think this was my favorite activity of the trip.
Every morning was spent combing the beach for sea glass, pottery, and shells.
We found bags and bags of sea glass.
I don't know where it comes from or what I'll do with it but it is beautiful.
The two squirts with buckets were collecting hermit crabs (Hermies).
They climbed over the sea wall by themselves on their mission to find small, medium, and large crabs for their sand castle.
Then there was the aquarium. What an adventure!
It's just crazy not being able to understand anything or read anything.
We watched the dolphin show, saw the whale sharks, and played on the net jungle gym.

I can see why these guys love Okuma.
We are so lucky to be able to spend the week in this beach wonderland.
