Over Easter I spent some time with Heather who is always painting, remodeling, and fixing her house. Then I spent the night at my cousin Tina's house who also is a wiz at interior decorating. I got the bug...the bug to do have a project...to do something with my hands and my house.
We started with the paint...RED of course!
Next came the wall flowers...fun and whimsical were my goal.
When they weren't helping they were "nesting"...
and supervising.
We put together 8 storage containers for supplies.
Thanks to my Grandpa Dolderer's toolbox I even had 3 screwdrivers
(none of which are pink thank you very much).
The girls's contribution to the wall consisted of Avery's butterfly,
and Kyndra's bird.
Before I was even done with the counter tops or painting the girls were crafting.
Speaking of counters...in the spirit of full disclosure I must admit that I sort of mis-measured the length of the counter top needed for the long wall. I was off by almost 1.5 inches! Lucky for me I live next door to a wonderful wood craftsman who cut it to fit just perfectly.
Their first project was to make window hangings to keep the birds from breaking their necks on this big entrance window.
Their artwork will eventually go on the red wall.
Here it is...I love it! I go in there to just hang out and smile at the walls.
Time to get crafty!
