Being drug out of bed by my little early riser isn't the only time I pause to appreciate Joe, but it ranks up there on the scale. I was startled out of bed by Avery wanting me to get her silly putty out of the egg, who knows how long she had been up entertaining herself. That's usually Joe's time of day, always has been and as far as I am concerned, always will be. But, he took off early this morning to go help with his mom in Albany, before that he was stranded in La Grande due to weather.
We miss Daddy! Having him gone for awhile really emphasizes what a partnership this is. So many things get left undone, or get done in the middle of the night because I remember in my sleep. I always forget to feed the cats, that's his job. He also takes care of the litter boxes! When I am responsible for picking dog poop I fling it over the fence, he always takes the time to dig a hole and do it right. I forget we have plants, take out the garbage, and the coffee hardly ever gets made until the morning. Joe stays home with the kids in the evenings so that I can go on a walk with the dogs and they are usually bathed and in pj's when I get back. Oh, another thing, the fire! Our friends call this house "The Tropics" because Joe keeps it nice and toasty in here. I have never gotten then hang of this catalytic converter thing and my fires just aren't up to par, so I usually don't bother.
I can't count how many times a day the girls ask "Where is Daddy?" I know he is needed right now by his family and I am proud of how he is handling this whole situation. But, this household of girls misses him and will be reileved and excited to have him back home. Hurry home, drive safe, and know you are loved!

You are so blessed to have Joe as a husband and Daddy! Kyndra and Avery are very lucky to have him as a Daddy that wants to be involved and takes an active role in their growing up years! I empathize with you when Lon has to be gone. About the fire...I LOVE coming over to "the tropics"...may the fire never die out!!! We also miss Joe when he has to be away from Pendleton. Hurry home!
You've got a keeper there!
Hope he doesn't have to be away too long!
We are wishing Joe a safe trip to Albany and a safe, quick return to 'his girls'. Yes, we heard that 'Where is Daddy' and 'Where is Mommy' several times while we were there! They were so patient with old grandma and poppa!
