We got to our hotel last night in Eugene and decided to walk to dinner downtown. About 1/4 of a mile into our walk I spotted this pine-cone hanging from a maple tree. Pine-cone? My first thought was that it was someones clever geocache then as we got closer we realized it is a mass of bees! We just had to go back to get the camera and capture this amazing sight.

OH MY WORD!!! Did Joe walk on the other side of the street? :) I am glad you went back for your camera. Might be a great entry for a photo contest.
I guess the Queen (no not you, Renee) is underneath all of them. When we walked by them in the morning there were three "cones" of them!
I KNOW I would have walked on the other side of the street and used my "zoom" lens! :)
YIKES! Having allergies to bees makes me want back away... far, far away.
