We had a very nice trip over to the valley to see Joe's family. We packed in quite a bit in short amount of time.
Beth had the great idea to decorate Carol's apartment for Christmas.
Rudy wasn't sure she appreciated us invading her spaceCarole has a great little apartment that is decorated just like home.
Wrestling with Beth is always the highlight of the trip for the girls.
This never happens so I had to capture it.
I think we were all caught off-guard when Carole choked up as we were saying goodbye. I'm not sure this has happened before. There is so much she can't express with words that it makes communication difficult. I think it is such a shame that we'll never know some of her stories and history, because she can't tell them to us. There is always the feeling that there is more we should be doing. She is here, she is making due in her new living environment, she and Beth are better friends now than ever before. For all of these things we are grateful for. It just reminds me to be a good listener now, to ask about family history now, to ask questions now.
Whew! That got kind of heavy! I hope everyone had a great holiday. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's posts and pictures.

Love the decorating of the tree & the "snoozing" one!! :)
Peace.
Have a great week friend!!
Wow! They slept!! You did have a fun filled weekend! Great pictures! So glad you are home! :)
Thank you so much for coming over the valley and warming my home. Having the opportunity to warm mom's apartment also was so special. My mom's tears truly expressed her feelings much more than her words ever could. I'm sure she's a little afraid, a little frustrated, and a little lonely. I get there twice a week but she would welcome more visits than that. She is safe, well cared for and well liked by the people at Quail Run. Your comments about asking questions about family history now are very true - do it and write things down! The loss of that history is painful and you can't replace it.
We all had a great time with the girls and you and Joe and look forward to next time!
It is amazing how exhausting, emotional, and amazing these holidays can be.
We have that same pink Nalgene bottle :) I think we shop at the same places.
Glad you had a good Thanksgiving.
